What is Hydrocolloid?

Hydrocolloid is a type of medical grade material used in acne patches. It is a substance that forms a moist environment when applied to the skin.

In the context of our acne patches, hydrocolloid acts as an absorbent and protective barrier over the acne lesion. It helps to draw out impurities, excess oil, and pus from the pimple, while also creating a barrier that prevents external contaminants from entering the blemish.

Hydrocolloid also aids in the healing process by keeping the area moist, promoting  faster recovery and reducing the risk of scarring.

How do i use my day patches under makeup?

• Prep you skin by using a gentle cleanser, toner, and moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated.
• Make sure the skin is dry for maximum adherence, and apply the patch.
• Apply make up! you can test what routine works best for you or try the following:

1. Dust your face with translucent setting powder.
2. Apply setting spray till it feels damp.
3. Lightly dab primer onto your skin
4. Add your preferred foundation and/or concealer and camouflage your day patch.

How do i use my night patches?

Night patches are your go-to for tackling stubborn pimples while you catch some sleep and here's how you apply them:

• Cleanse and dry your face.
• Apply the patch and carry on whith your usual nightime skin care routine.
• After 6-8 hours or when the patch turns white, remove the patch. If there's still some white pus left reapply the patch to take care of it.

What kind of pimples is Haloskin's pimple patches used for?

The best use of our patches is for surfaced acne that has come to a head (when you can see the fluid trapped inside your pimple).

If after 8 hours the patch hasn’t turned white, the pimple might not have been ready to be extracted yet or it is not the right type of blemish. If you have deep cyctic acne we recommend seeing a dermatologist for treatment.

What's the difference between day patches and night patches?

The day patches comes in 2 sizes and have an ultra thin design that blends seamlessly to your skin and your makeup making it ideal for daytime use. 

While the night time patches have the same acne fighting ingredients as the day patches, they come in one size and their thicker design provides more absorption for more stubborn pimples.

What do i do after taking off my patch?

Wash your face using a cleanser(preferably a low ph one), followed by an exfoliator, after the skin is dry use a moisturizer to hydrated your skin.
